Here are the pictures selected by the Jury for the Collection-26.
A frozen moment captured at Bhigwan, where a pair of graceful Chinkaras pause in the golden grassland. The scene is made even more picturesque by the presence of a vigilant Drongo perched confidently on one of the Chinkara’s backs. A beautiful example of wildlife coexistence and the simple yet profound interactions within nature.

The courtship rituals and manoeuvres of Small-blue kingfishers are surreal to experience, with their vibrant blue and orange hues and super-fast moves they look like a beautiful blur. I particularly liked this stance where the male seems to bow-down to be accepted by the female while she, with her wings open, shows restraint and power. Something that would only do good if accepted as a norm by all living species. This shot was taken in the beautiful hill-station of Mahabaleshwar, India in 2024.

This image of the Amur Falcon was taken in the Bushi dam area of Lonava, a town in, Pune District of Maharastra State, India. Every winter, thousands of these beautiful birds depart from their breeding grounds in Russia to spend the next few months in Southern Africa. Enroute, they take a pit stop across India's Western and Southern parts to refuel for the long flight onwards. And this time it was the turn of Bushi dam, in Lonavala. Getting a good closeup of this bird was not easy. I had observed that the Amur falcons feed on the insects amongst the dry grass, I had to crawl in the grass in order to get close enough and after multiple tries from morning, eventually in the evening I was able to take this photo, the falcon flew right at me, head-on as I was lying in wait to get this frame.

The King and his Kingdom : Visiting Dhikala and not falling in love with the Landscape is highly impossible. The idea was to show the Apex predator and its territory which reflects the power of this magnificent creature and bring an awareness of not holding them in captivity. This is one of the male litters of the famous Grassland female tiger of Dhikala
