In March 2024, I embarked on a birding expedition to Rongtong forest in West Bengal, driven by a deep desire to capture the majestic Great Indian Hornbill in action. On the final day of my trip, I expressed this ambition to my guide, who skillfully navigated his car through the forest with me in tow. We arrived at a specific location within Rongtong forest, where a breathtaking sight awaited us: a gathering of 8 to 10 Great Indian Hornbills perched on a branch. As if on cue, these magnificent birds took flight, engaging in playful displays and delicate courtship rituals, heralding the imminent arrival of the breeding season. Against a backdrop of unparalleled natural beauty, I seized the opportunity to capture their grace and grandeur in motion. Armed with my trusty camera and telephoto lens, I immersed myself in the moment, each click of the shutter immortalizing the ethereal dance of these iconic avian beings.

In this striking photograph, a vivid green bird perches gracefully on a branch, caught in an "oops" moment as it drops a cluster of orange berries from its beak. The vibrant colors of the bird's plumage and the berries contrast beautifully against the soft, blurred background, creating a captivating snapshot of nature's delicate and unpredictable moments. This image perfectly captures the fleeting and charming details of wildlife.
