While searching through the dense forest, this Green Vine Snake suddenly opened its mouth in a defensive display. For a brief moment, its hidden world was revealed-a reminder that every creature has a story of survival and self-defense.

One of my lifetime captures. But beyond the frame… it became a story. An early summer morning, I walked into the jungle chasing birds, only to find a silent hunter instead. A small Spectacled Cobra rested beneath a tree still, patient, watching. I stayed with it… observing every breath of the moment. Then suddenly movement. A swift strike into the bush. and it emerged with a small frog in its grip. In that instant, I didn’t just capture a photograph I witnessed the raw poetry of the wild.

Early in the morning at Purbasthali Bird Sanctuary in the Bardhaman district of West Bengal, a snake silently caught a huge frog for its breakfast.
The Silent Stalker A tiny leopard cat cautiously makes its way through a muddy forest trail, surrounded by dense tropical vegetation. Its golden coat, marked with dark spots and stripes, blends beautifully with the earthy tones of the wilderness. The cat’s intense gaze and alert posture suggest it is carefully navigating its environment, perhaps searching for prey or avoiding danger. Capturing this beautiful creature during a morning safari in Dhikala felt less like luck and more like a priceless gift from nature — a memory that will stay with me forever.

Perched in Majesty, At first light, the forest fell silent as this remarkable pair shared the same branch, offering a fleeting glimpse into their hidden world. One, cloaked in deep black; the other, adorned with rich chestnut tones—together, they revealed the striking beauty of a hornbill pair. Shared Landscape - This photograph was made near Kothagiri in the Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, during the monsoon. While exploring the grasslands on the outskirts of the town, I noticed this lone Indian Gaur standing quietly on a hillside overlooking a rapidly expanding settlement. The scene immediately caught my attention not because of the animal alone, but because of the striking contrast between the wild landscape and the growing human footprint behind it. The image reflects how wildlife continues to survive in fragmented habitats, reminding us that conservation today often extends beyond protected forests into landscapes shared with people.

This photograph was captured near Kaziranga National Park, Assam, during an early morning drive through a forested corridor. A Western Hoolock Gibbon mother moved confidently through the canopy while carrying her young, offering a brief glimpse into the close bond between parent and infant. I chose to include the surrounding branches to place the pair within their natural environment and to highlight their arboreal lifestyle. Western Hoolock Gibbons are India's only apes, spending nearly their entire lives in the forest canopy, where healthy, connected forests are essential for their survival. The image celebrates a quiet moment of maternal care in the wild.
