This frame took years. I wanted to juxtapose an elephant herd and showcase its similarity with a mountain range - shapes and sizes echoing the ridgelines, exactly parallel. Few places in India offer this setting; almost none give you the herd this close, in this light. The river and the clean separation were the day being generous.
Captured in February 2026 at Bhadra Tiger Reserve, Karnataka, this photograph shows the famous Black Diamond of Bhadra drinking alongside its mother by the Bhadra river. Witnessing these two elusive leopards together in the wild was a rare privilege, and the calm reflected in this moment contrasts beautifully with the secretive lives they lead.

Getting into wildlife was somethings which was never in my wildest dreams but somehow now I cant think of anything else but to plan for the next trip into the jungle. I've always wanted to travel to new places and explore more parts of the world, which I continue to do through visiting new parks whenever possible.

Guardian of the Grasslands Captured in the Bhigwan Grasslands of Maharashtra, this portrait of a Montagu's Harrier reflects the untamed spirit of India's disappearing grassland ecosystems. As the bird settled amidst the dry golden grasses, it suddenly flared its feathers, lowered its body, and fixed its piercing yellow eyes directly toward me—a brief but powerful display that lasted only a few seconds. Photographing raptors at ground level demands patience, distance, and respect for their space. Rather than approaching the bird, I waited quietly, allowing it to behave naturally. The soft evening light, muted grassland tones, and the harrier's intense gaze came together to create an image that speaks of strength, vigilance, and survival. To me, this photograph is not just a portrait of a magnificent bird of prey, but a tribute to the fragile grasslands that sustain these remarkable winter visitors and countless other species.

Location and Date of Capture: Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, 5th July'2026 As monsoon clouds gather over the lake, a tiger moves silently along the water's edge, stripes cutting through a sweep of rain-fed grass. Overhead, a pair of storks lifts off—two lives sharing the same wetland, each indifferent to the other. This is the tiger not as predator or icon, but as one thread in a larger fabric: the grassland that feeds the deer, the lake that draws the birds, the season that renews it all. In the soft, overcast light, the landscape itself becomes the protagonist—and the tiger, simply, belongs.

Every monsoon, is transformed into a vibrant world of lush green bamboo, where spotting a big cat is never easy. Hidden behind a curtain of fresh bamboo leaves rested a sub-adult male leopard, perfectly camouflaged in the forest. For a brief moment, he opened his mouth in a wide yawn, revealing his powerful canines before blending back into the wilderness. In Bhadra, moments like these are rare, not because the forest lacks life, but because it protects it so well.

In the early morning light of Blackbuck National Park, a striped hyena carries the carcass of a jackal across the open grassland. Often overlooked and misunderstood, the striped hyena plays a vital ecological role as nature’s cleanup crew, recycling nutrients and helping maintain the health of the ecosystem by removing carrion. This photograph captures the resilience and adaptability of one of India’s most elusive carnivores, highlighting a raw yet essential aspect of life in the wild. It is a reminder that every species, whether predator or scavenger, has an indispensable role in preserving the delicate balance of nature

This image was captured during a morning safari in Panna Tiger Reserve near the Kheraiya Gate on the Hinauta side. The tigress, P142, had just brought down a sambar stag and was dragging her hard-earned kill towards her cubs. With tigers succeeding in only a small fraction of their hunts, witnessing such an intimate moment of survival in the wild was both rare and unforgettable. I composed the frame slightly wide to retain the animal's presence within its habitat while ensuring the tigress and her prey remained the clear focal point. A small plume of dust raised as she moved added a subtle sense of motion and drama, highlighting the raw power and resilience that define India's apex predator.
