This was such a fascinating moment! An elephant and her calf walk through the riverbed unaware or perhaps aware of the tigress peeking from the foliage. She waited for them to cross and only then was able to come out of hiding. Dhikala Zone, Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve.

The Galaxy Frog is one of the rarest and most elusive amphibians of the southern Western Ghats, found in the forests around Munnar. Named for the striking blue, star-like spots on its jet-black body, it is an evolutionarily unique and vulnerable species, making every sighting a truly extraordinary wildlife experience.

CIRCLE OF PROTECTION: Under the jungle canopy I captured a rare intimate moment of maternal devotion. This female Twig Spider stands guarding over her amber egg sac, slender form normally lost to mimicry. By positioning myself backlight against the damp air, a fleeting optical phenomenon occurred: a brilliant circular rainbow flare erupted around her. This natural refraction transforms a scene of camouflage into a cosmic arena encircling the hidden mother with a shield of light and bokeh. To make this dream like, eye-catchy and thought-provoking image I have used Nikon D500 paired with Tamron 90 mm VC USD and old vintage lens Helios 44M-4 58mm F/2.

Suspended by a thread of sunlight, the Tailorbird pauses its weaving for a momentary sip of nectar. Precision in every beat, grace in every flutter. Usually busy stitching leaves into cradles, the tailorbird trades its needle-work for a moment of liquid gold. It hovers at the flower’s edge—a tiny, feathered ghost haunting the petals.

Master of disguise I was in Goa, in search of some wildlife in the night like frogs and insects. I noticed something was glowing in the tree trunk, and on a closer look it was a Lichen huntsman Spider perfectly blending amidst the lichen on the tree trunk. I decided to check the spider on day light which would make it show the level of camouflage it is. I took the same trail in the day light, reached the spot, but to my surprise, I couldn't find the spider. I thought it had moved away. I was closely observing the entire tree trunk, but I couldn't find the spider even in the nearby stumps. After spending some 20 minutes of close watching inch by inch, I found the spider still on the same spot resting. I wanted to record the camouflage of the spider and made this tight close-up image that shows how it blends with the lichen on the tree. 'She crossed...but her heart stayed behind ' This moment was not just a sighting, it was an experience. In the Sundarbans, we saw a tigress trying to cross the river with her cubs during high tide. The cubs were scared because of too many boats around. Twice she tried, and twice she went back. The third time, she had no choice and crossed alone. This picture is from the other side of the river, where she stood looking back at her cubs. She was calling them, almost like crying. As a mother, that moment felt very emotional to me. Somewhere we realized that while we were busy capturing this moment, she was going through fear and urgency. Maybe there was danger behind… maybe she was trying to protect her cubs. This was not just wildlife photography… it was a reminder of what they go through because of us. January '26 at Sundarbans

The Silent Message - Photographed in Kabini, Karnataka, during the summer, this tiger paused beside a tree to scent-mark its territory. Such behaviour plays an important role in communication, allowing tigers to signal their presence and reduce direct confrontations with rivals. I waited quietly as the tiger approached, and the moment unfolded naturally in soft evening light. Rather than a portrait, I wanted to capture a behaviour that is fundamental to the life of this elusive predator and rarely witnessed in such a calm, unobstructed setting.
