Tiger Tree : A tigress and her four cubs were sitting under the shade of a tree for a bit of relief in hot summer afternoon. This beautiful scene depicts they are being a part of nature and living in harmony with the natural laws. The children are resting together with their mother, this expresses the group bond and sense of security between them, symbolizing a kind of coexistence in a peaceful environment. The tigress and cubs chose the shade of a tree as a safe haven from the scorching sun on a quiet afternoon. It was a kind of instant peace and stillness for them. Their stillness revealed a kind of peace and balance deep in nature, comparable to the stillness of Lord Buddha's meditation. The photo was taken at Pench Tiger Reserve, India in the month of June 2025.

SUDIP ROY

Kolkata (West Bengal)

About Photographer
Coming from an orthodox Bengali family from Kolkata, India, I recognised my passion for photography much later after I hit my 30s. Prior to that I was only an IT employee working for various MNCs for more than 12 years. I discovered my fascination for photography, especially for bird shots when I visited a bird sanctuary with a photographer friend in 2018. I immediately decided that I would want to delve deeper into the world of birds and wildlife. So I began working on my gear. Started from Canon Rebel-T5 with Tamron 150-600, currently I possess Nikon Z6iii , Z5ii and 180-600 Nikon Lensfor my genre of photography. With birding and wildlife comes a lot of traveling. So I started visiting remote Himalayan districts and forests in search of exotic birds and wild animals. Some days prove to be very fruitful and rewarding while some are not worth the time and energy invested. As it's the mantra of wildlife photography. No matter what, patience is the key till you find your lucky day.

In this scene from a tea plantation in Valparai, Tamil Nadu, a baby elephant feeds from its mother. I used the plantation pathway as a leading line, drawing the eye directly to the pair. For me, this image symbolizes the remarkable adaptation of wildlife to human-altered landscapes, where life and nourishment persist amidst orderly rows of cultivation.

UNIK SIGNATURE: Photography is a matter beauty, conservation, awareness and restoration of mother nature. As a passionate nature photographer my core intention is to inspire viewers through my works. I always try to do something a new, eye catchy and thought-provoking. This is a simple signature spider. This tiny unique spider has something attractive. It is kind of Orb-weaver spider but the web is dense, prominent structure of white, zigzag silk woven into the centre of their large, wheel-shaped signature like orb webs. It may help them camouflage and resting at the centre of the web. Females are brightly coloured, often displaying bold patterns of yellow, black, and sometimes white on their abdomens. They are diurnal (active during the day) and primarily prey on small to medium-sized flying insects caught in their webs. They are found in a variety of habitats, including gardens, shrub lands, forests, and fields, typically spinning their large webs in low vegetation about 1–2 meters (3–6 feet) above the ground. But the best part of the image is the barrel type background effect. To make this dream like image I have used in-camera multiple / double exposure technique.
