Resplendent beauty The elusive Resplendent Shrub Frog, found in the Western Ghats is a highly endemic species. This species is found only 2600 meters above sea level and adapted to very specific ecological conditions. Reaching about 2.5 cm in length, these frogs are noted for their striking reddish-orange coloration and the distinctive glandular swellings on their sides and backs. Nevertheless, with fewer than 300 mature individuals estimated to be left in the wild, conservation efforts are crucial for the survival of this critically endangered beauty.

The Guardian of the Night A Fat-tailed Scorpion mother becomes both warrior and guardian. The scientific name for the fantail scorpion is Androctonus crassicauda. Camping under a stone, Her armored body glistens with the weight of responsibility as dozens of fragile young cling to her back — pale, translucent, and utterly dependent. This photograph captures more than a mother and her young; it captures a paradox of the wild — that within the most intimidating forms of life lies tenderness, resilience, and a fierce devotion that mirrors our own. It is a portrait of motherhood as old as time itself, etched not in softness, but in strength.

On a stormy summer afternoon in Dhikala, I set out on safari with no expectations. But just minutes in, we spotted a subadult female tigress. She was drenched but unbothered. She walked across the paar grassland as if letting us into her rain soaked world! While it was pouring down, she looked right at me, and for a minute it felt like everything stopped. All I could hear was the pitter patter, all I could see was her, and all I could feel were my heart beats! This was just more than a photograph to me. It became a memory and everything changed right then.

Tiny world releasing its dreams to the air. This mushroom spore release process is one of the most fascinating parts of a fungus’s life cycle. Spores are like the seeds of fungi that can grow into a new organism under the right conditions. Once spores are mature, they are detached from the mushroom & drift into the air. Because they are incredibly small, even the slightest air movement helps them spread. Next, once these spores land on a suitable surface (like soil, wood or decaying matter), if conditions are right they grow and form a new mushroom. Fun fact: A single mature mushroom can release millions to billions of spores in its lifetime, creating those beautiful spore clouds like you see in this image. Location: Aghanashini Field Station, Uttara Kannada, Karnataka.

Black-rumped Flameback – Morning Glow in the kaziranga national park Perched gracefully on a tree trunk deep within the forest, the Black-rumped Flameback woodpecker glows as morning sunlight filters through the canopy. Its vibrant plumage catches the light, revealing golden hues that shimmer against the textured bark. In this quiet moment, the bird pauses—alert, elegant, and perfectly framed by nature’s soft spotlight. The interplay of light and shadow, forest stillness, and the woodpecker’s striking colors make this a scene of pure woodland magic.

About Photographer
Being a dentist by profession, my journey into wildlife photography began as a hobby, a way to unwind and reconnect with the wild. Over time, it evolved into something deeper. I've spent countless hours tracking animal behavior, studying natural habitats, and waiting for that moment when everything aligns into a perfect synchrony of light, action and emotion. For me, it's not just about creating beautiful images, it's about telling real, untamed stories and encouraging people to see the wild through a more captivating manner.
