High in the frozen cliffs of Spiti Valley, survival plays out in quiet, patient moments. On a frigid morning, an ibex carefully navigates the snowy ledges, its curved horns and sturdy hooves built for these unforgiving mountains. Just a few rocks away, curled against the cold, a red fox lies still — conserving energy, waiting, watching. There is no chase, no immediate drama, only a fragile coexistence between predator and prey. In this suspended moment, the snow-clad silence feels heavier than action. The ibex, alert but unhurried, keeps its gaze fixed, while the fox, cloaked in fiery fur against the white, seems to measure its chances. For me, this encounter captured the essence of wild Spiti: a landscape where survival is not always loud or violent, but often written in quiet standoffs, in patience, in the balance between hunger and endurance. This was the first time that I visited Sundarbans and I was struck with what is called an hattrick, We visited the mangrove in the month of July , and encountered over three tigers on the first day, with over seven encounters. This was one of my favorite moments when the famous Boro Maa, crossed a canal and looked straight into my eyes. It was truly a majestic encounter after waiting for over 2 hours for the tigress to cross.

These are flying termites. We all know before the start of monsoon every year, some species of termites fly swarms in the late afternoon and in early evening. This is called nuptial flight. We can find the mound of termites in wet abandoned places. Each mound is built by a king and queen. They have also king, queen, soldier and worker termites like weaver ants. And in a mound there are millions of termites of a single colony. When they become adult, wings grows in their body. Now they are capable of building new colonies, they are attracted towards light. They fly around light to find their partner. Like most nocturnal insects, the pests will be drawn to light sources around the home, such as street lamps, motion lights etc. It is very common to see swarms of termites flying around utility lights inside the room as well. One day I saw this near a petrol pump. This is a multiple exposure image. As the termites are flying around a long high street lamp, I have to use tripod. There are 5 shots, camera merged them into one. Blue and yellowish tones are due to kelvin and tungsten white balance mode. To make it more eyes catchy I have taken some shot in slow shutter and some in high. A Busy Petrol Pump in Cooch Behar, West Bengal.

A dream capture since a decade to frame a leopard in Bandipur's iconic Backdrop came true this monsoons as one fine morning, the legendary reception female was stalking the deers from the top of her one of her favorite trees

Monsoon Flight The image features a male Indian peacock (Pavo cristatus) in mid-flight. Its iridescent plumage and long train are vividly displayed, a sight less commonly photographed as peacocks usually prefer the ground for movement. The lush greenery below, undulating rocky hills in the distance, and monsoon-laden sky capture Jawai’s rich parched terrain being revived by seasonal rains, conveying both the wild beauty and serenity of the region. This fleeting moment—a peacock in flight—is a symbol of the raw natural splendor and timeless peace found in Jawai
mirror game subadult cubs of tiger playing with each other copying every move in sync appears to be a cub observing itself in a mirror the picture was taken in Tadoba buffer
About Photographer
An actor. Environmentalist by education. I love photography especially the wild life, nature ,birds. Have huge respect for all the bird photographers out there for the patience they require to capture one moment. Never professionally learnt wildlife photography learning through mistakes. Given a choice I would love to spend more time in jungles and observe the diversity
Royal Game - In the golden dry grasslands of Ranthambore, I witnessed a rare and electrifying moment—two sub-adult tiger cubs locked in a fierce mid-air tussle. What began as a playful morning turned into a dramatic skirmish after one cub managed to catch a mongoose that crossed their path. Another sibling quickly lunged in to challenge the prize, leading to this spectacular leap—a perfect mix of raw instinct and youthful energy. In the foreground, a third cub watches with calculated caution, unsure whether to join or stay clear. The inspiration behind this photograph was to portray the wild not just as a place of beauty, but of constant interaction, learning, and survival. The cubs’ fight isn’t just play—it’s practice for the life that lies ahead in the competitive jungle.

"Meeshakari’s Triumph: A master of the hunt, this majestic female leopard drags her spotted deer prize high into the trees, securing her feast in the canopy of Bandipur’s wild heart." In this powerful moment, Meeshakari, a remarkable female leopard from Bandipur Tiger Reserve, showcases her strength and stealth. With her spotted deer in tow, she ascends the tree, ensuring her hard-earned meal is safe from scavengers. The vibrant forest backdrop contrasts with her elegant yet fierce determination. Leopards are known for their ability to haul prey into trees, and Meeshakari exemplifies this skill—her agility and hunting prowess shining through. This image captures not just the hunt, but her mastery over her environment, symbolizing the raw beauty and power of the wild.
The killing machine with kill. The mighty peregrine falcon killed this jungle myna infront of us in mid-air. It celebrated while carrying the myna and perched right before us in the Indian Sundarbans. Quite the show it was.
