About Photographer
Coming from an orthodox Bengali family from Kolkata, India, I recognised my passion for photography much later after I hit my 30s. Prior to that I was only an IT employee working for various MNCs for more than 12 years. I discovered my fascination for photography, especially for bird shots when I visited a bird sanctuary with a photographer friend in 2018. I immediately decided that I would want to delve deeper into the world of birds and wildlife.
So I began working on my gear. Started from Canon Rebel-T5 with Tamron 150-600,
currently I possess Nikon D500 and Nikkor 200-500 for my genre of photography.
With birding and wildlife comes a lot of traveling. So I started visiting remote Himalayan districts and forests in search of exotic birds and wild animals. Some days prove to be very fruitful and rewarding while some are not worth the time and energy invested. As it's the mantra of wildlife photography. No matter what, patience is the key till you find your lucky day.

A lone dragonfly perches gracefully on a tiny stick jutting out from a calm waterbody in Palakkad, Kerala. Captured during the golden hour, the warm evening light reflected off the ripples, forming countless glowing bokeh circles. With the subject positioned perfectly at the center, the frame radiates peace, balance, and the quiet magic of nature’s golden moments.

Under the blazing summer sun, a lioness and her four cubs approach the waterhole, their golden coats shimmering in the heat, paws stirring up dry dust with every step. The cubs, full of curiosity and energy, follow their mother, learning the rhythm of survival. As they drink, there’s a rare stillness, a fleeting moment of peace. This is nature at its rawest and most beautiful.

A Big Catch - In the calm waters of Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary, a darter emerges with a splash, gripping a large catfish in its beak. The fish twists and flails, trying to break free, but the bird holds on tight. With a sudden flick of its neck, the darter tosses the fish into the air, trying to position it just right for swallowing. For a brief moment, both bird and fish hang in mid-air—locked in a quiet, wild battle. It’s nature at its rawest—beautiful, intense, and real.

Newborn Golden Jackal Pups Place of picture - Nrisinghapur , WB DOC - 25/05/2025 A local farmer informed me that a fox had given birth in the forest beside his farmland. Excited, I grabbed my camera and rushed to the location, hoping to capture a rare moment. It had been raining all day, but I waited patiently in the downpour, anticipating their appearance. Hours passed, and after nearly four hours of waiting in the wet and cold, the moment finally arrived — the fox emerged from the den with her curious little pups. I quickly took this shot: the mother stands protectively in the background, while the pups, with wide, surprised eyes, stare straight at me. It was a magical, unforgettable moment in nature.
