Bathed in the golden light of dawn, an Asian Openbill pauses in the shallow wetlands for a quiet drink. Reflections turn water into liquid gold, transforming a simple moment into one of calm and timeless beauty.

Laali of Rajaji—on an inherited throne, where lineage meets quiet authority.
At sunrise in Dhikala, the tigress known as Choti Paro walked across the iconic Ramganga riverbed, its pale stones stretching wide beneath a veil of morning mist. The rising sun filtered through the fog, casting a soft golden glow across the landscape and outlining her form against the vast habitat. For a brief moment, predator and terrain merged - a solitary figure moving through an expansive wilderness. The scene reflected both the power of the tiger and the scale of the ecosystem it inhabits. Location: Dhikala, Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve, Uttarakhand When: February 2023, early morning
About Photographer
I’m in the early stages of my journey as a self-taught wildlife photographer, drawn to quiet moments in nature - where mood, light, and stillness come together to tell a story.
My work focuses on clean compositions, natural tones, and restraint - often letting the subject breathe within its habitat.
I’m in the early stages of building a portfolio rooted in storytelling and conservation, and this submission reflects the kind of work I hope to grow into.
Western Marsh Harrier with a Lesser Flamingo kill. The vast, baren and salty marsh land with a sparse vegetation seen in the field of LRK and GRk of the Gujarat state of India always drew a special attraction for me. It's for the third time that I was visiting the area. While I wander through these lands in a Jeep safari hours after hours I often got surprises in a sudden splash of moment after a prolonged and dull drive. This year, just a few days back in LRK the same thing happened all of a sudden. One Western Marsh Harrier was seen eating a killed Lesser Flamingo. Though I felt pity for the slaughtered bird, but it all happened to maintain a food chain system in the nature.

Photographed at Muttukadu, Chennai, in January 2026, this scene captures the chaos that followed moments after the hunt. As the cormorant surfaced with its fish, a gull swooped in aggressively, determined to steal the prize. What began as a simple catch turned into a fierce contest of speed, instinct, and hunger. This image reveals the relentless truth of survival—where even a successful hunter must fight again to keep what it has earned.

The Hunter, the hunt and the opportunist... this is from Ranthambore National Park where the tigress made the fresh kill and dragged it near the lake, the crocodile from the lake was lurking around to get a bite while the tigress was firm on protecting its prized possession.
About Photographer
A passionate Nature and Wildlife photographer based out of Bangalore. Every encounter with wildlife for me is a chance to capture the stories of the beings who don't speak the same language as us but we share the same ecosystem.
While photographing a nightjar on the outskirts of Bhigwan, Pune, during winter, I spotted a beautiful chameleon on an Indian Gum Arabic tree, slowly moving along a branch. I captured a few shots, then decided to experiment creatively by placing a light source behind it for a backlit effect. In a sudden, unexpected moment, a spider landed on its dorsal crest. I was fortunate to capture this rare scene in backlight—its delicate form glowing, creating the illusion of an illuminated, spiked path beneath its feet. A truly captivating moment brought to life through light and shadow.
