Striped Hyena & Golden Jackal- Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur, Rajasthan. This encounter documents spatial coexistence between a Striped Hyena and a Golden Jackal within a shared forest corridor at dawn. Shot from a low perspective, the composition integrates layered tree trunks to create depth and natural framing. The hyena’s direct gaze establishes dominance, while the jackal’s guarded stance suggests territorial tension. The image contributes behavioral context to interspecific dynamics among nocturnal carnivores.

At sunset in Jim Corbett National Park, we had a choice to make—continue along Sambhar Road in search of a tiger, or head towards the banks of the Ramganga River to look for elephants. We chose the river. As we reached, the light began to soften and spread evenly across the landscape. The river reflected the fading sky, and the surroundings gradually became quieter. After a short wait, a small group of elephants appeared near the water, moving at a steady pace. The sun was all set to disappear behind the hills. We waited & moved a bit to align ourselves with the sun and waited for the elephants to arrive. The sun was in a hurry but the elephants were not. Finally just as the elephants moved, the sun set behind the hills as if waiting to bid adieu to the elephants. The setting felt complete—the mountain, the river, the grass, the elephants, the golden light and the sunset coming together naturally

“Reflections of Survival” Two tigers feed beside a still waterhole, where their reflection mirrors a stark truth: survival in nature depends on life and loss. The calm setting contrasts with the intensity of the moment, highlighting the balance between beauty and brutality in the wild.

I am a 1997 graduate from Delhi Collage of Art and started my career as an interior designer for media houses. Photography has been my passion for a very long time, but I didn’t get enough time due to my involvement in my business. Recently I got time during the COVID period and started photography again and now I’m enjoying wildlife photography as a hobby. It’s the beginning of new journey for me.I’m more inclined towards wildlife photography as it requires a lot of patience and adaptability skills that I acquire. I also have a lot of respect for wildlife which motivates me to photograph it even more.

CARING MOTHER Wildlife photography is always unpredictable but always full of probability . One dull session of Safari could turn into a lifetime bonus within minutes . The same thing happened with us in the vast and barren land of GRK , Gujarat , India this year in the month of February . We were in the afternoon safari and searching for the Short - eared Owl for two hours but without any result . We were feeling bored of re circumventing the same area again and again . All of a sudden, a Striped hyena appeared from no where with its kid inside her mouth . I have never witnessed a Hyena carrying a cub in her mouth and perhaps running for a new shelter to protect its baby. It was a very interesting sight to see , the powerful jaw which could crush a bone easily how tenderly carried the cub a long distance.

Until You're Back Hanle, a small village in Ladakh, is home to a variety of wildlife, including Pallas’s Cats, Red Foxes, Tibetan Wolves, and birds like Black-necked Cranes. I visited Hanle after the monsoon season, looking for some of its lesser-known mammals. While traveling along the highway that runs through the village, we spotted a family of Pallas’s Cats. The mother had made a safe den for her three kittens on a mound near the roadside. We observed the mother leaving the den during the day to hunt for rodents like Pikas and Voles in the nearby pastures. She would bring back her catch to feed the kittens. I captured this photograph late one evening. One of the kittens was sitting on a boulder, waiting for its mother to return with food. The scene was set against stormy clouds and occasional rain, creating a dramatic and moody atmosphere. The kitten’s quiet patience against the dark, rolling clouds made the moment unforgettable. Subject: Pallas's cat (Otocolobus manul) Location: Hanle, Ladakh Region, India. Date: 17th Aug 2024
