Two elephants navigate the steep, rocky slopes of a mountain—an unusual and awe-inspiring sight that showcases their adaptability and resilience. The vast, rugged terrain dominates the frame, making the elephants appear small in contrast, emphasizing both their presence and the challenges of their habitat. Their careful movement across the slippery rock highlights their instinctive ability to survive in unexpected landscapes. Captured in Palakkad, Kerala, India, this image presents a rare perspective on wildlife in extreme environments, serving as a testament to nature’s perseverance and the ever-changing dynamics of animal habitats.

In a moment of sheer elegance and precision, the stork-billed kingfisher strikes the water with breathtaking speed. The instant it snatches the fish, a burst of water erupts in a stunning splash, frozen in time. The contrast of the bird’s bold, colourful plumage against the shimmering droplets creates a dynamic and captivating scene. The Fishing Cat is about twice the size of a typical house cat. An adult measures 57-78 cm and weighs between 5-16 kg. The Fishing Cat is an excellent swimmer and, as its name suggests, often enters the water to catch fish. It has even been seen diving to catch fish. Wetlands are the favorite habitat of the fishing cat. In India, the fishing cat is mainly found in the mangrove forests of the Sundarbans, the valleys of the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers in the foothills of the Himalayas, and the Western Ghats. They are mainly nocturnal and, in addition to fish, eat frogs, crustaceans, snakes, birds, and carrion from larger animals. Since 2016, the fishing cat is listed as a vulnerable species on the IUCN Red List. The destruction of wetlands and killings by local people are major threats to the fishing cat.[1] The destruction of wetlands includes increased pollution or conversion for agricultural use and human settlements. In the day light and in the Mangrove habitat it's really challenging to find them. I am lucky enough to get this beauty in the last February.

Three emotions, one frame: Fear, Pain, and Hunger. Can you spot them all?. This is one of the most emotional sighting at Panna National Park. Clicked with Nikon gears. In the heart of Panna National Park, a young sub-adult tiger of Tigress P151 made a kill—a cow, while its calf remained unaware of the unfolding tragedy. The scene captured three raw emotions in a single frame: fear, pain, and hunger. The cow fought desperately, her cries echoing through the jungle, while the tiger, driven by instinct and survival, held on with unwavering focus.

Golden Clash – Dhikala’s Wild Drama. Captured at Dhikala, Jim Corbett National Park during an winter evening, this moment was an unexpected delight. As we reached the Ramganga River at sunset, hoping for a tiger sighting, nature had a different spectacle in store. A herd of deer stood against the golden backlight, their silhouettes glowing in the fading light. Suddenly, two pairs of deer locked antlers in an intense battle, their energy breaking the evening’s calm. The dramatic clash, framed by the warm hues of sunset, turned out to be the perfect wild moment to capture.

In December 2024, while exploring the Purbasthali Wetland, I witnessed a chilling yet captivating scene. As we quietly drifted through the water, a sudden, eerie call from a frog broke the silence - a cry of desperation. My guide, with his sharp instincts, immediately recognized the sound: "A snake has caught it." We silently maneuvered the boat toward the source, and there, in the murky waters, I saw the Checkered Keelback Snake clutched around a large Green Pond Frog. The frog hung helplessly from the snake's jaws, its frantic calls echoing in vain for release. I captured the haunting struggle as the snake slowly submerged, dragging the frog deeper into the water vegetation. In that moment, the unforgiving cycle of life unfolded before me, as the frog’s cries faded, swallowed by the vast, indifferent wetland - a tragic reminder of nature’s merciless law of survival.
