About Photographer
Being a dentist by profession, my journey into wildlife photography began as a hobby, a way to unwind and reconnect with the wild. Over time, it evolved into something deeper. I've spent countless hours tracking animal behavior, studying natural habitats, and waiting for that moment when everything aligns into a perfect synchrony of light, action and emotion.
For me, it's not just about creating beautiful images, it's about telling real, untamed stories and encouraging people to see the wild through a more captivating manner. Photography allows me to capture the natural world and share the magic, one frame at a time.
As dusk began to settle over Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in April 2022, I was about to witness a once-in-a-lifetime sighting. During my third afternoon safari, as we were heading back to the resort, my jeep driver suddenly stopped and motioned toward the dense bushes. There, I caught my first glimpse of Lara, a magnificent tiger, hidden within the foliage. Before I could fully process the scene, she stepped onto the open road, walking straight towards us in a breathtaking roadshow. Alone in the wilderness, we watched as Lara marked her territory, her claws carving deep into the trees. I quickly framed this regal moment with my wide-angle lens, capturing her raw power and beauty against the vast landscape. As she disappeared into the forest, the world seemed to pause, leaving me awestruck and speechless, deeply moved by her untamed grace and the overwhelming majesty of nature in its purest form.

I'm Tanmoy Das Karmakar from Kolkata, West Bengal. I've started my wildlife Photography from 2018. Later on I found my passion and interest in birds and wildlife photography, especially action moments. From the beginning I participated in many photography contests and exhibitions and regularly followed others photographers' work in Facebook and Instagram. Then I made a wildlife photography channel and contacted some of my photographer friends and went to various national parks, bird sanctuaries, and photography exhibitions with them. I visited many national parks and bird sanctuaries for photography. Gradually I became an expert in birds and wildlife photography and till now I'm learning photography from Google as well as many reputed photographers. I believe there is no end to learning. Till now I'm trying to improve my photography skills to better and continue pushing boundaries in the world of photography. I'm thankful to my parents for supporting me a lot in my wildlife journey.
Pallid Harrier -Male I captured this beautiful bird on the outskirts of Bhigwan. Known to roost in grasslands, these birds usually arrive late in the evening when the light has almost faded. On one such evening, this bird arrived a little earlier than usual, giving me the perfect opportunity to photograph it in flight.

Photo of a female Leopard in the rain from Kabini Forest, Karnataka, India. I was on an evening safari in the Kabini forest, it was raining moderately and we continued to search for our luck to spot some wild animals. As we moved further into the forest we heard the alarm call by deers and stopped our vehicle and waited patiently. We were looking into the direction of the call but had no luck. After waiting some more time we moved further and luckily we spotted this beauty in the tree. What a sighting it was, my first ever Leopard sighting that too in the rain. After seeing us she was still sitting in the tree and we maintained a safe distance without disturbing her. And the rain intensity started increasing and she closed her eyes for a moment when I captured this beautiful photo, a photo in which the elusive beauty looks like sleeping in the rain.
