Silhouettes. From whatever little experience I have had of being out there, I have always felt a weird sort of attraction to silhouette photography. Not only does it challenge the normal rules of photography where the sun should be on your back to get the best photos, it also for me, allows you to create art of your photographs! In this aspect, I think Rann is one of the best places to click silhouette shots of a variety of raptors and the endemic Asiatic Wild Ass. Here is one of my favourite silhouettes from the not so Little Rann, of an adult imperial eagle in gorgeous morning winter light!

WIld boar fight During the recent trip to Kanha, I came across these wild boars which were very easy to spot and plenty of them. While I was observing these animals there was a moment when two of them started showing the signs of aggression which would lead to fight. Not leaving this opportunity, I captured the moments of fight which is quite rare to witness.
Ever tried staring into the soul of a damselfly? This ultra macro shot of the Clear-winged Forest Glory was taken at Tambdi Surla, Maharashtra, and let me tell you, it’s a whole new universe when you zoom in this close! Those hypnotic compound eyes, the metallic green hues, and those fine details – all make this damselfly a true jewel of the Western Ghats. Capturing this was a mix of patience, precision, and sheer passion. Isn’t it amazing how much beauty lies in the tiniest corners of nature?
