Location : Jim Corbet National Park - Dhikala Zone Date : January 2024 Year 2024 started with a golden step for my wildlife passion. I was planning a short vacation to escape my busy corporate life in Kuwait. Finally, the plan ended with a trip to Jim Corbett National Park, the first national park of India. On 25th January, I stepped into Dhikala for a safari and a three-day jungle stay. Dhikala was incredibly beautiful, with the Ramganga River, golden grasslands, and misty mornings in January. All of these factors created an amazing wild landscape for the zone. On our last day, the Par area (a zone across the Ramganga River) was open, and we traveled there, hoping for some tiger action near the Ramganga River zone. It was a misty morning, with the sun showering its golden light, attempting to eliminate the mist. In the distance, I saw an elephant grazing amidst the golden grass, and I took a few clicks of the frame. The frame was blessed with the Ramganga River as the foreground and the partially misty atmosphere. It became one of my favorite frames gifted by Dhikala that morning.

About Photographer
I am an autodidact photographer with good patience and passion towards nature. The journey of photography started with a beginner's camera exploring the aesthetics of nature. Initiated with the love of nature then turned into passion for wildlife photography without my knowledge. Photography led me to learn and explore the habitats of species in nature and to explore the locations for specific species. I enjoy my passion and love being a part of nature.

This image is when Kuwani tigress from Pangdi Core in Tadoba stole the kill that was made by the wild dogs. She came running from a distance when she saw the wild dogs killing the male spotted deer. Later on she dragged the kill and in this picture she was looking at the wild dogs with the kill in her mouth.

In any wild cat photography, some of the most beautiful shots that are clicked are the ones that are clicked head-on. I mean, why not? The elegance and grace of these beautiful creatures are on full display when they walk head-on: the eye contact, their stride, and the colours of their coat- absolutely gorgeous! In my very first safari in Blackbuck National Park in Velavadar, we had passed by two jungle cats, who true to their nature bolted as soon as they saw us. But this cat turned out to be something special. Anticipating the cat’s behaviour, we went to the opposite side of the road, where a watchtower existed. We got down near the watchtower (the only place we could get down from the car), and hoped that if she walks towards us, we had good chances of getting ground-level head-on shots of her! And bang on. With beautiful evening golden light falling on her, she unbothered, moved head-on towards us. She became so comfortable that she passed by us within a 2-3ft distance, going about her scan and hunt! This surely counts as one of my most intimate moments with wildlife, one that I will cherish forever!

I have captured a beautiful picture from the vast Sundarbans forest, which is home to large mangroves. During my day-long safari, I spotted a variety of birds and raptors, but unfortunately did not catch a glimpse of any tigers for the first three days. However, on the last day, during the final hour, our operator showed us a stunning moment. Instead of taking a close-up shot, we decided to take a habitat shot of the Sunderban Tiger, where we captured the water, sky, and tiger with the Mangroves forest in the background.
