When we decided to trek in 3-4 feet of snow from Kaza to Kibber due to multiple avalanches, I had no clue that we would be blessed with such sightings. Once we got the fresh pugmarks on snow, the locals who accompanied us were quite sure that they are just ahead of us and we need to find them. Soon we got a glimpse of the family and decided to get down at the ridge. It was definitely not easy as one wrong step we would have landed into the Spiti river. We spent some quality time with the family and in one such event, one of the sub-adult decided to get down as mother couldn't be seen. I laid flat on my back to click these images somehow supporting my whole body on a narrow edge.

When I go to any place, I plan and strategise the frames. This was one such frame I planned after I had a detailed discussion with the guide beforehand. He said that the blackbucks fight very often. I wanted a fight action shot desperately for my portfolio. However this frame was full of surprises. Before exiting the Gaushala area in the evening, the golden light was beautiful, the grass was lush green and I was waiting anticipating the action. These two hunks literally decided to fight for me in this beautiful backlit situation. With a 400mm in hand the frame is quiet tight but I loved the entire experience they created ! Equipment: Sony a1 + FE400mm f2.8 GM OSS Exif: 1/1250, f2.8, ISO 400

Title: The God, the Tiger and the elephant. As we were going around the Bandipur tiger reserve in search of the big cat, we passed by this water body where an elephant was walking in the water. The backdrop of the brightly coloured temple of God Shiva sitting on a tiger made for an interesting composition.

I photographed this image on November 2020 from Purbasthali. In my second day boat safari I was looking here and there something to happen and I suddenly I noticed a White breasted kingfisher threw up something on a perch. As soon as I went close, I noticed that White breasted kingfisher caught a frog. Here is a moment when that kingfisher tossed that frog.

About Photographer
I'm Tanmoy Das Karmakar from Kolkata, West Bengal. I've started my wildlife Photography from 2018. Later on I found my passion and interest in birds and wildlife photography, especially action moments. From the beginning I participated in many photography contests and exhibitions and regularly followed others photographers' work in Facebook and Instagram. Then I made a wildlife photography channel and contacted some of my photographer friends and went to various national parks, bird sanctuaries, and photography exhibitions with them. I visited many national parks and bird sanctuaries for photography. Gradually I became an expert in birds and wildlife photography and till now I'm learning photography from Google as well as many reputed photographers. I believe there is no end to learning. Till now I'm trying to improve my photography skills to better and continue pushing boundaries in the world of photography. I'm thankful to my parents for supporting me a lot in my wildlife journey.

On a fine misty morning, as we was about to berth our boat, there was an abrupt splash nearby. Behind the bushes was an EAGLE, keeping still. It had a flinty stare which seemed to suggest we were trespassing on its domain. By then I had my camera focused. When it took off, I saw the eagle hauling its KILL. It is hard not to pity the little fish gasping for its last breath, but it is impossible to look away from the clinical, cruel precision of the majestic winged raptor as it took off with its victim held in a death grip. Nature in all its bleak, unsparing glory. Grey headed Eagle.

A wild gamble of life! In a land where life co-exists with uncertainty, sitting comfortably at a safe distance is a sambhar deer who is either confident enough that she will not get cought today by this young tigress or she knows the predator has already fed. The way they are looking at each other is telling a story in itself. Paarwali daughter, Dhikala

I would caption this photograph as "Love in the Air", portraying the care and love of a mother over its leap from one bark to another when there are was alter calls from the fellow members in the group, more than a photograph I was able to witness the effective communication between these animals which was mesmerizing and the care they take on their kids, as captured in this image, the mother takes a long leap with its kid (I try to freeze the moment in air with the dusk background lighting)
