|| An Unexpected Rivalry || We were roaming about in a forest searching for this Changeable Hawk Eagle when we unexpectedly saw a raptor flying towards us in an alarmed state. Then we saw it was running for its life with a crow in its back. Such a raptor getting mobbed by a crow and even a drongo tells us that the largest are not always the mightiest. Nadia, 2023

Hello Myself Santanu Kumar Shit. I come from Chaibasa, Jharkhand. From the past 4 years I am harnessing my photography skills. Professionaly my brain has been trained to master the concepts of engineering but my heart is always inclined towards wildlife photography.
This photo was taken in Saswad, Pune where a group of vernal hanging parrots were spotted at a millet farm on a cloudy morning. Despite difficult lighting conditions, I made several attempts to capture the birds in flight for an hour or more but was unsuccessful. Then, I had an epiphany. I realized that when a bird perched on an unripe millet, it would quickly fly away in search of a ripe one to eat. This knowledge allowed me to finally capture this shot through the foliage, creating a beautiful blurry effect on the wings due to the low shutter speed caused by the low light. One of the basics I always stick with: learn your subject before you choose to press the shutter

The tigress Pedwali photographed sitting on the iconic fallen tree after which she was named by the locals. It took me 14 months waiting for hours and hours to finally get this image of her. The undisputed queen of Dhikala was photographed resting on the tree on a lazy afternoon after which she disappeared into the bushes.
