Here are the pictures selected by the Jury for the Collection-8.
We knew as we plan this visit that we have sub-adult cubs in the park and the first few safaris we did not get any great action shots apart from them strolling and playing hide and seek in the bushes. The last morning safari, they obliged us with their full playful spirit and they decided to give a full display of their sibling play and the action behaviour in the pool. This was made at Gothangaon, Umred, Maharashtra.

A dangerous life. India is blessed with varied landscapes and each landscape has specific flora and fauna. It is amazing how the animals adapt to the landscapes they live in. An Ibex is seen here maneuvering on the steep slopes of the Lower Himalayas. This was taken in Spiti, Himachal Pradesh.

Alert Mode ON. This picture was taken at Blackbuck National Park, Velavadar. It's morning time and Blackbucks are grazing in the soft sunlight. All of a sudden all this herd of blackbcuks stopped eating and got alert. All were looking in a same direction in a similar fashion. In a few moments we understood the reason, a pair of Indian Grey Wolf were spotted roaming in search of their morning breakfast and coming towards the blackbuck. What a wonderful morning that was!!!

Love to travel and keep the moments of Nature forever through Lens.On every holiday or vacation I excuse myself to voyages, safaris, treks or even a walk through the deepest neck of the woods and soak in the true taste of nature. The flora and fauna of Western Ghats of India has always fascinated me. Macro, wildlife, night sky, landscapes are my forte.
Black Buck | Tal Chappar, Rajasthan | 2021 The first sight I saw was the horns, the beautiful creation of nature. And if you see closely it shows you the texture and you can literally feel it. The magic of monochrome allows you to gaze at it a bit longer.
About Photographer
My name is Heer Mahant from Mumbai. I always wanted to be as free as a bird. 'As free as a bird because birds guided me to become a photographer, to pursue photography as my profession. Capturing and connecting with nature and earth takes me to a whole new world of possibilities with no barriers. I've always been very keen to give something and educate the society from my imagination and putting it in my story of wildlife. The chirping of the birds, the roars of the lions and all the other sounds animals make is the kind of music. I want to listen in my whole life. I, through my pictures, want to expose and motivate to the people the kingdom of animals which is less known to them.
