Pali is facing severe heat wave and water scarcity these days. In these tough times, water is being provided by the forest department for wildlife. At some distance from one such hole, I setup my tent before sunrise and sat inside it with my camera. With passing the day, movements of birds started toward the waterhole. I was enjoying their activities and kept taking pictures. Suddenly a crested hawk eagle landed on a nearby tree. I was overwhelmed to see it as it was my long awaited lifer. I waited patiently for it to come down at waterhole. While I captured the thrilling moment I had to control my nerves.

Closeup shot of a butterfly. I was roaming around outskirts of my city, looking for some birds. It's wings were closed When I saw this tiny butterfly. Knowing that the butterfly might open its wings or basking, I sat there patiently for 4-5 minutes. After this period its started walking on that grass strand and it opened up its wings and stayed like that for 1-2 minutes. After this it again closed its wings and just sat on that grass strand. Shot on Nikon D3500

Indian Rollers are beautiful, especially in the dry season when they provide a stunning colourful dash against the drab forest. Given they are aerobatic fliers, it is not that easy to grab them in flight, but careful observation of the flight plan gives amazing results! Waiting for tigers can be very rewarding if one is in the lookout for amazing rollers! :-)
