Here are the pictures selected by the Jury for the Collection-33.
Captured in the rugged Spiti Valley—“Land of Gods”—at ~14,000 ft, this image came under extreme conditions: freezing winds, steep terrain, and fading evening light. Stability was difficult, but the low light added a dramatic mood to the scene. It tells the story of a resilient mother in the wild. Before hunting, she safely hid her cubs, then set out across icy terrain in search of blue sheep. I followed from a distance, framing wide to capture both her and the vast, harsh landscape. For 40–45 minutes she moved steadily, then, spotting a herd, she lowered herself and waited in stillness for nearly an hour—patience and precision at its finest. As darkness and weather worsened, I couldn’t witness the final hunt. Yet that uncertainty reflects the true essence of the wild—raw, unpredictable, and humbling. This image is about endurance, motherhood, and survival in one of the harshest environments on Earth.
About Photographer
I’m Kapil Bhagwat, a passionate wildlife photographer capturing the raw beauty of nature. My camera is more than a tool—it’s an extension of my senses, helping me tell authentic stories of wildlife in their natural habitats.
From early days with a point-and-shoot to working with DSLR gear, my journey has evolved into a deep pursuit of capturing fleeting, powerful moments. Wildlife photography has shaped my lifestyle—demanding patience, resilience, and a constant connection with nature.
I often trek challenging terrains, wait for hours, and immerse myself fully to capture the perfect frame. For me, photography is not just art—it’s energy, adventure, and storytelling combined.
Beyond photography, I actively support wildlife conservation, dedicating part of my work to protecting nature. Each image I create aims to inspire awareness and a deeper connection with the wild.
Through my lens, I invite you to experience nature in its purest form—raw, real, and untamed.
On International Tiger Day, the jungle wrote its own story. A tigress returns, meeting her bold little cub after the rains. Golden light spills in as if the wild itself celebrates the moment. An evening so pure, it felt like a blessing from the stripes.

he golden hour bathed Chupi Char in molten copper, turning the calm Hooghly backwater into a mirror of fire. A male Red-Crested Pochard, with his fiery orange head and dark, elegant body, was relaxing near the reeds. Suddenly, alarmed by a distant sound, he sprang forward, flapping his wings powerfully against the water's surface. Droplets erupted, catching the sunlight and showering down like tiny, molten rubies. With a sharp splash, he took flight, his striking white wing-bars flashing against the orange sky. He soared, leaving a sparkling wake behind him before disappearing into the shadowy tree-line. The water slowly calmed, settling back to glassy silence, leaving only the memory of his vibrant flight as the sun dipped below the horizon, ending a perfect day in West Bengal.

I was a prisoner of the pixel, a cog in the corporate machine, suffocated by the endless hum of servers and bland office beige.
My great escape began with a single click. The camera in my hands became my declaration of independence. Stepping into nature, I found the vibrant truth that algorithms couldn't define.
I traded the mouse for the magic of the wild, reclaiming my soul from the system. I am no longer just an IT engineer; I am alive, capturing the raw, breathing world, finally free beyond the screen.

This photograph was taken in January 2026 at Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, Uttar Pradesh, India. The image presents a Bengal tiger within its natural forest habitat, emphasizing the scale and depth of the surrounding sal forest rather than isolating the subject. Soft morning light filters through the trees, creating a balanced interplay of light and shadow across the scene. The composition highlights the relationship between the predator and its environment, portraying the tiger as an integral part of the wilderness ecosystem and conveying a sense of calm, dignity, and ecological harmony.
On a misty winter dawn in Rajaji National Park, Uttarakhand, where the Shivalik meets the Himalayas, these two leopard cubs sat perched on a fallen tree — alert, curious, and already reading the forest better than most of us ever will.
