Black-headed ibis With snake DOC- 24/02/2023 Place of picture - Mangalajodi , Odisha I came to Mangalajodi to capture moments like this. The scorching sun was intense, and I had been waiting for nearly two hours, hoping for the perfect shot. Just as fatigue was setting in, our guide suddenly spotted something unusual — a bird had caught a snake. Without wasting a second, we rushed toward the bird. It was a rare and dramatic scene unfolding in front of us. I quickly positioned myself and took this shot — the bird holding the snake tightly in its beak . It was a thrilling reward for the long wait under the blazing heat.

As we returned from our maiden trip to Spiti Valley, we made arrangements for a safari at Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary, specifically at the Gothangaon gate. Our goal was to catch a glimpse of the renowned F2 tigress, and we were blessed with an unforgettable encounter. She provided us with some incredible photo opportunities under the warm morning golden light. The experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all who were lucky enough to witness her majesty.

This picture of the Beddome’s Bush Frog was shot in Munnar, Kerala. "Raorchestes beddomii" is a small, vividly coloured amphibian found exclusively in the lush forests of the southern Western Ghats in India. Nocturnal by nature, it emits a soft “tink-tink” call at night from beneath leaf litter or near forest streams. Although striking and ecologically unique, the species faces growing threats from habitat loss and is currently listed as Near Threatened.

About Photographer
As I was growing up somewhere along the the way my fondness for the wild and interest towards photography amalgamated, thus wildlife and nature photography became my Hobby and passion, and this thirst to capture the different species on this planet has enabled me to travel a very small bit of the world in search of the biodiverse wild, that includes the countries of Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia and India, and I still have a long list to cover.

About Photographer
It’s always been my dream to be a wildlife photographer. When I was 15 I bought my first camera but I never got the chance to go to a national park. A few years later, I went to my first national park and never looked back ever since. I’m an amateur photographer who is still learning but I’m definitely glad that I’m following my passion and doing what I love!

In the peaceful wetlands of Purbasthali in November 2024, I set out to capture unique bird behavior. One afternoon I saw an Osprey bathing in the holy river Ganga, a rare sight, but I missed the shot by seconds. That moment haunted me. I told myself I’ll wait no matter how long it takes. It wasn’t just a promise, it became a test of my determination and hope. For the next four days I tracked the Osprey every morning, observing silently with my camera ready. On the fourth day my patience was rewarded. The Osprey returned and plunged into the river, flapping and splashing in a graceful and unseen bathing ritual. I captured the moment I had been chasing. That frame is a reminder that when passion is met with persistence, nature always reveals something extraordinary.

Combat for fish - Two great cormorants clashed in a fierce battle over a fish, their movements a testament to raw momentum. With each powerful flap of their wings, water splashed in rhythmic bursts, creating a dynamic scene of energy and motion. The fish, caught in the fray, darted frantically, adding to the chaotic ballet. Each cormorant’s lunge and retreat was driven by sheer force, their sleek bodies cutting through the water with precision. The momentum of their struggle was palpable, a relentless push and pull until one finally seized the prize, leaving the other to glide away, momentum spent but spirit unbroken.

Art is derived from nature, and nature itself is a form of art. This instance illustrates how the graceful movement of a bird can transform into a beautiful dance. The bird in focus is a barn swallow, a species recognized for its quickness and nimbleness & this specific moment was captured from a low angle as they swoop down to the water for feeding.
