The Pallas's cat (Otocolobus manul) is a small, solitary, and elusive wild cat native to the mountain ranges of Central Asia. Also known as the manul, it has a thick, smoky-gray coat with white tips, a flat face, and a stocky build. Reaching lengths of 50-60 cm (20-24 in) and weighing 2-4 kg (4.4-8.8 lbs), it is well adapted to the harsh, high-altitude environment. Pallas's cats are skilled hunters, feeding on small mammals, birds, and gerbils. Due to habitat degradation, human persecution, and climate change, they are listed as Near Threatened. Conservation efforts are necessary to protect this unique and fascinating species. As a photographer I was amazed seeing this species in the wild

It is a joy to see how a Darter dives into the water and comes up with a fish impaled on its dart-like beak. It then flicks its prize into the air and swallows it in one go with the fish head entering first. I felt as if the proud Darter wanted to show the trophy by holding it high before taking home
