The snow leopard, often referred to as the "ghost of the Himalayas," is a remarkable and elusive predator found in the Spiti Valley of India. These magnificent big cats are well adapted to life in the harsh mountainous environment, boasting thick fur and long tails that aid in balance. Snow leopards primarily hunt on high-altitude terrain, preying on animals like ibex and blue sheep. Their solitary nature and camouflage skillfully blend them into the rocky landscapes, making them difficult to spot. Conservation efforts are essential to protect these endangered cats and their fragile habitat, ensuring the survival of this iconic Himalayan species.Seeing this cat in a breath talking altitude and temperatures is surely a dream come true

The photograph was taken on 19th October 2022 in Goalpara, Assam during the autumn season. After many attempts I was able to capture this leafhopper hovering around a bulb by using slow shutter with the help of an external flash. I got my expected shot finally, after trying a lot like Edison's bulb invention. Leafhoppers are basically insects in the family Cicadellidae. All members of this group use piercing-sucking mouthparts to suck out plant sap. They excrete honeydew, a shiny, sticky waste product.

Jim Corbett is the best place to capture these gentle giants as they dust themselves. The vast grasslands of Jim Corbett offer excellent, uninterrupted views of these elephants. On one occasion, I witnessed an elephant dusting itself while the sunlight was perfectly aligned, allowing the rays to pierce through the dust, adding depth and intensity to the image
