This image is of a cat snake hanging on a branch. By placing the flashlight below it, I was able to get this frame. Since it was raining that time, the water droplets can also be seen.

This Bold Leopard was walking on the forest track and was approaching towards our jeep safari at Bandipur National Park. This sighting can never be forgotten as we were only the jeep to witness this, It did scent marking and was hugging to the tree, where in we felt as if it was showing us, this is mine and dare to do anything. This was seen repeatedly done for close to 3 times. I have captured multiple photos during this sighting, but never seen this kind of pose wherein it was felt that it is carrying the tree and was feeling its closeness.

The Lion-Tailed Macaque, native to India's Western Ghats, is one of the world's most endangered primates, with fewer than 4,000 remaining in the wild. Habitat loss due to deforestation and human encroachment has critically endangered this species, which relies on undisturbed forests for survival. This image captures a rare, intimate moment between a mother and her baby, symbolizing the fragility of their existence. The mother’s protective embrace, with her baby nestled in her fur, reflects not just maternal love but also the precarious state of the species. The survival of the Lion-Tailed Macaque depends on urgent conservation efforts to protect its dwindling habitat. This photograph serves as a poignant reminder of the need to preserve the natural world, not only for the survival of this species but for the well-being of all life on Earth.

My photography is an extension of my work as a biologist. I’ve always been driven by a desire to capture the intricate beauty of wildlife and share it with others. My photos have been featured in reputed magazines and have even caught the attention of the Government of India, for which I’m truly grateful.

A wildlife enthusiast at heart, a disciple of rocks by profession. I received my doctoral degree from Jadavpur University, and after a one-year project at University of Tokyo, I am currently working at IIT Kanpur as a Project Post-doctoral fellow, trying to understand the conversation of rocks under high pressure-temperature, buried far beneath the surface of the Earth. While my brain is looking down under, my heart revolves around Mother Nature, flies with the butterflies, roars with the tigers and chirps with the birds. I am a passionate wildlife photographer, with a special interest on macro, specifically on butterflies. I was involved with many photographic organizations in the past, and currently I am working in the Wiki Loves Butterfly Project, collecting and presenting photographs, information, and knowledge about butterflies for mass awareness and conservation.

The Hunt Tadoba Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra On a safari in Tadoba Tiger Reserve we happened to encounter the famous tigress Maya, barely visible, in a patch of large grass bordering the lake, we soon realised that the tigress was in stalking mode. Close by was a sambar deer along with a young fawn. The mother sambar deer was alert and suspected trouble near by, suddenly the tigress gave a mock charge towards the mother sambar deer, it escaped, but soon the mother sambar deer realised that the tigress was not after her but it was the young sambar fawn that was on the tiger's mind. Next the tigress chased the fawn into the lake and then the inevitable happened.
