A hunting heron gulping down baby crocodile whole. On my visit to Ranthambore on 23rd of June, we were exploring zone 3 of the park to search for any signs of dominant tigress of Rajbhag - Riddhi. Rajbagh has always been a place with mesmerizing views and also some rare wild encounters. Rajbagh is also home to large number of crocodiles. When in the wild you always need to keep your eyes vigilant as nature throws you with unexpected encounters. As I was moving my eyes through the lake, an unusual movement of Grey Heron caught my eye. It had something in its beak shaking his head, biting and rolling the thing in its beak. On zooming in through the camera, it was found to be a baby crocodile caught by the Grey Heron. In a few seconds, Heron gulped down the baby crocodile and started searching for its another food.
Tibetan Wild Ass (aka Kiang) are the natives to the major grasslands and plains situated in Ladakh. They usually prefer to inhabit plateaus, wide valleys, and low hills dominated by grasses, sedges, and smaller amounts of other low-lying vegetation. This particular kiang couple was spotted by our tour guide near the Tso Moriri Lake in Ladakh. However, instead of focusing on getting a close-up image, I preferred to capture a wide angle landscape shot to include the serene mountains in the backdrop along with the kiangs grazing in the foreground.

Fox feeding its puppies This was shot near the grasslands of Bhigwan. Due to mass destruction of grass lands around this region these beautiful creatures are slowing tapering down with population. The prime concern being feral dogs for this species followed by habitat destruction. I personally saw about 8 dogs ferrociously killing one fox some time ago at good distance. This mother some how gave us opportunity to witness this tender moment at perfect setting so that I could capture the moment. Though the wait was longer (from morning 6:30 to eveing 5:00), I was blessed with this wonderful sighting.
The Bond for Generations - Trees and Tigers are definitely the most visible bond. This is very famous waterhole and the big old tree of Pench, the area and especially this tree and waterhole has been passed on to same lineage generations now. The latest queen of the area seeking the blessings and confirming the bond with the guardian tree.
