We were in Nagarahole Tiger Reserve in a safari vehicle rushing to a watering hole that was the usual stomping ground for a tigress. Suddenly we felt being watched by something on the road side. We screeched to a halt to see this majestic leopard sunning himself on a mound. A few seconds later, he had vanished into the bushes!

Cubs of famous grassland wali 7th Jan'22, Dhikala, Jim Corbett Young lads learning the art of climbing trees. Though young tigers can easily climb the tree after some practice, however it gets difficult for them to climb as they age. After some rest & stretching one of them started looking for the prey from the height with good visibility while taking the full advantage of the tree. After spotting a fawn he ran after it, other one kept relaxing & had a good time. This playful afternoon literally was a treat to the eyes & I was lucky enough to capture this once in a life time sight.

This frame reminds me of one of the most memorable sight during the sunset. The demoiselle cranes were inside the tal chappar sanctuary, all busy foraging on the ground and the golden light during the sunset illuminating the grass into a golden hue.

It was an amazing experience to watch this white breasted Kingfisher gulping a frog for its meal. It beats it on the perch to kill and dislodge or break protective spines and bones. Having beaten the prey, it is manipulated and then swallowed it. Captured this amazing moment at Purbasthalli, West Bengal in 2021.

Observing and photographing these fascinating, relatively small yet resilient, migratory raptors is a dream of every birder and photographer. Was fortunate enough to get this opportunity for the first time in 2020 and yet again in 2021. The fact that these beautiful creatures have safe heavens, in their challenging migration journey each year, is a reassuring sign for nature lovers. Its challenging to capture their beauty in a single photograph. This image was created in December 2021, when this particular Amur Falcon female (with a few damaged feathers on the left wing, which caught my attention) was killing with precision. She personifies focus, strength and agility.

One fine morning in month of October at Jawai Hills, I spotted one leopardess with her two cubs. I followed them till the last minute of my safari. They were constantly moving on the top of the hill and the cubs playing here and there. After sometime, I saw them descending the hill. They came down and the mother sat at a point for about ten minutes, may be she was bit tired. One cub sat with the mother and other cub kept going ahead. The frame I had in my mind was to create a habitat shot rather than the closeup.

The picture was shot at Purbasthali, West bengal at around 3.30 PM from a boat. I with my boatman waited for the bird for around 5 hours from morning to sit on the bamboo stand. After a long wait, we were just rewarded with view of Osprey with a catch in its claw. It was a great moment for us and I captured the moment with great joy.
