Satpura is a lesser known tiger reserve and is relatively very less visited. This gives us an opportunity to visit the reserve with lesser cars around, it gives us time to plan our compositions, vehicle positions and also camera settings. One such day was in an early winter morning when there were hardly 3-4 cars in the whole area and we were following the footprints of a huge male tiger for more than 2 kilometers, we knew instantly that this guy is a walker on an early morning territory marking stroll. This is what happened when we met R2, a huge male tiger in Satpura, he walked in front of us for almost 30-40 minutes when we decided to take a chance and drive almost for 10 mins to come ahead of him and there you go, what happened next is etched in our memories forever.

About Photographer
Wildlife/nature travel has always been a passion which I have only been able to follow lately with multiple visits to our national parks. Tigers are my new found love and sheer size and beauty of the animal makes we want to go to the parks time and again. Just leave me with my binoculars in the park, without my camera, I am equally happy!

This little Scopps Owl was so well camouflaged in the trunk of a dead tree at Ranthambore national Park that it was almost impossible to spot it from the safari vehicle. I opted for this high-key treatment to bring out the details of the tree and the owl - almost of the same color and texture.

An early morning safari in Pench Tiger Reserve benefitted me in ways I never imagined "a breathtaking" capture for my lens. Entering the jungle, the call of the Sambar got us waiting in anticipation, as it meant the big cat was nearby. As we went deeper, the wait culminated with the majestic beast stepping out of the shadows. But as luck would have it, it was hard to get the shot from an angle that did justice to the view I was experiencing with my naked eye because of the presence of many other enthusiasts like me. I decided to use my previous knowledge about animal behavior, positioned the camera on the bark of a tree, and waited patiently for the Majestic Feline to approach. The wait was long, but it was indeed worth the shot. I started to shoot, not realizing that I accidentally reduced the shutter speed to 1/25 sec. But God was favoring me that day, as it turned out that the reduced shutter speed helped me capture the tiger in action displaying the windy morning.

About Photographer
An IT professional by destiny and a passionate photographer by heart is how I would like to chronicle myself. Born in an era when the internet hadn’t boomed and having a computer was a luxury, I was fortunate enough to witness nature unfiltered. My love for natural, scenic beauty pestered me to purchase my first gear a decade ago, and the rest is history. I started by capturing the natural beauty around my vicinity, which provisioned me to take guided tours in the wild. My love for mother nature in our beautiful country has given me some of my best shots. I have wishful thinking that my work would enlighten people to work towards achieving a balanced ecosystem and being a drop in the ocean required to conserve the wild.
